Contributors Wanted!

Think you have a great idea for a Weekend Kindness?

If you think you might have a good mission suggestion, we’re always open for suggestions. Register with this site, and if you participate on a regular basis we’ll make you a contributor and you can suggest what we could do for a future mission! If we pick your suggestion, we’ll feature your post on this site!

Just click on the register link, fill out the information, and when you have an idea, login and save your suggestion. Our administrators will read through the submissions and we may pick and feature your challenge!

For now, time to sign up to do this week’s challenge and prepare for a Weekend Kindness.

Tip: How to use Header Graphics

So, you want to use the header graphics that are found on this site– especially the new ones provided by Shari. How do you do it?

  1. Paste the code somewhere– either into Notepad, into your blog on a different tab/window or wherever you are composing the Weekend Kindness.
  2. Go to the Header Graphics page, place the mouse over the picture you want to use, and press your right mouse button.
  3. Select “Copy Image Location”.
  4. Go back to your code and find the first (and maybe only?) reference where it says <img src="...">.
  5. Delete all of what is between the quotes.
  6. Place your cursor between the quotes.
  7. Press the Right Mouse Button and Select “Paste.”

Now when you go to post or view your post in the visual editor it should have new image!

Any questions?

How Do We Get More Participants?

So, you love the idea of Weekend Kindness and you want to share it and see it grow? How do we do that?

Well, one idea is to try to get one or two people that are loyal reader/bloggers to see this meme and encourage them to get involved. Let them know that they can choose to write something about what has happened, or follow along with our missions.

Let’s use this meme to truly make a difference by reaching out to others!

Here’s How it Works

Welcome to Weekend Kindness!

Each week, the thoughtful people behind Weekend Kindness will suggest an activity for you to perform this weekend and then report on your blog. The idea here is that if there are multiple people doing the same types of things, it will be interesting to see how different people respond, in which way they took the suggestion and whether they would have done this themselves or will ever try this again.

You do have a choice to make, though. You can choose to do this mission and be placed in the “Mission Participant’s” section or you can choose to do some other kindness and be placed in the “General Paricipant’s” section. We’ll find you in Technorati, so make sure you use our code or put our tags in your post so we can find you!

Here’s the schedule:

Each Wednesday we will post the weekend mission. If you comment to that post, you will have a chance to be placed on the blog roll if we find that you have accomplished your task.

Each Friday the comments for the Wednesday post will be closed, and we’ll list the people in a post who said they would be participating so that you can see who is up for what challenge.

Each Monday, we will post links to all of those who completed a Weekend Kindness over the weekend and place people on the blogroll based on whether they let us know they would be doing it, how often they participate.

In the future, look for us to come up with more features and ideas (we’re always open to new ideas) and of course– go out there and be kind!
