What’s Happening This Week

Thank you for visiting Weekend Kindness-- the blog that helps you build positive relationships! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you don't miss a single post from one of our great authors!

This week we will be introducing the new contributors to Weekend Kindness.  Yes, people from all walks of live have volunteered to help on our new focus of building relationships.  To that end, we’re going to take some time this week to meet some of the new faces around here, as I’ve asked each of them to introduce themselves before we start reading their contributions.

I look forward to reading what they have to say, discussing relationships, and learning from one another.

There’ll still be weekly lists of different ideas, but this way we’ll also get to discuss what’s going on in relationships, read some great poetry, and simply share ways that we can encourage one another.

Refocus

Weekend Kindness was originally designed to help us be kind over the weekend through challenges that we would complete a la Thursday Thirteen.  However, it has occurred to me over the time that I’ve spent writing on marriage and family over at MInTheGap that what we could really use is a refocusing of our time on how to best serve each other in our marriage relationships and our families.

So, over the next few weeks you can expect a retooling over here at WK, with more emphasis on loving your spouse, challenges and suggestions of how to meet their needs and surprise them!

We’ll still give you something to try out this weekend, and we’ll still give you some suggestions on how to show your love to your family– and maybe to the general public– but we’ll definitely have a new focus, and more content as well as challenges that talk about families and family life.

Here’s to the beginning of a new adventure on WK.

We’re Back!

With posts in hand and new missions, watch this space later on today for your next assignment!

We now have posts even on non-mission days, so come back and check out what people are doing to be kind all around the web– and be encouraged and challenged to be kind to those around you!

We’ve updated the code to make it cleaner– so grab the new code!

Back in November

Weekend Kindness is in the process of some regrouping, some rethinking, and some retooling.  Look for us to start back up November 1st!

In the meantime, we’re still looking for authors/contributors!  If you would be so kind as to write some instances in your life that you had kindness demonstrated to you or that you demonstrated kindness or if you can find links to kindness displayed on the web, please feel free to post them or send them in e-mail to headergraphics@weekendkindness.net.

See you November 1!

We’re still looking for some help around here– anyone with the time or desire to do some tasks to perform some upgrades or wanting to become an author around here should send an e-mail to headergraphics@weekendkindness.net and we can provide you will some items that we’d like done.

Authors / Contributors Wanted

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we can make this concept impact our culture, and I think that we need to do more than just post three times a week on a challenge.  I think that we need to start highlighting acts of kindness that we see in the news and in real life on this site.

To this end, I’m asking you, Weekend Kindness Readers / Agents, if you’d like to partner with us in our attempt to highlight acts of kindness across the web and in the world.  I’m looking for bloggers to commit to one post a week that’d be a link and a short blurb on someone else’s kindness (be it from a blog, a news item, etc) or something original from your life.

We’ll still have the challenges and try to get people to go with us on those adventures, but this way we can also provide encouragement and strength to those that don’t believe that there are people like us around any more.

Are you willing to embark on this adventure with us?

Doing a Thursday Thirteen This Week?

You could post a link to this site in the comments of your Thursday Thirteens and see if people would like a chance at a new meme!
