Secret for Wives #2

SUPPORT YOUR HUSBAND.

We are to complete our husband, not compete with him. Genesis 2:18 says, “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone: I will make him a help meet for him.” The word “help meet” is “neged”. It means, “part opposite, counterpart, over against or before, other side.” God made us opposite to our husband. We have a different task. It would have been unnecessary for God to make another creation like Adam to do the same thing as him.

I believe that one of the most fundamental understandings of a successful marriage is to know our role in the marriage. God ordained the husband to be the Provider, the Protector and the Priest of the home. He created the woman to be the Nurturer, the Nourisher and the Nest builder. The husband is the Breadwinner; the wife is the Bread baker! The husband is the King; the wife is the Queen.

To College, and Beyond

fma When I chose to attend Bob Jones University I wasn’t sure that it was right for me.? I did not agree with Calvanistic Doctrine.? I did not like some of the rules that were put upon the students.? And I had been the homebody that didn’t go off to Boy’s State like his brother.

However, I blended right in.? I was able to become pseudo-popular… Popular in my own circles.

A Christian Tradition

Gospel Reading I was born into a Christian family.? My father had been a follower of Christ since 16, my mother earlier.? I was attending church regularly before I was able to know what church was.? I attended Christian school, and it was there, one early morning before class that at a teacher’s leading, I asked Jesus to come into my life and be my personal Savior.

Did this prayer save me?? I don’t believe that it is the prayer that saves you.? In reality, my belief in Christ before that prayer might have already saved me, or it could have come later in the story.? It was at that time, however, that I decided that I would live a life for Christ.

God is Still At Work

Late Night Somewhere in between debates on the presence of God and Creation and the thoughts of a God who has always been at work I’ve found myself taking a hard look at who I am, who I should be, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

It’s easy, while you’re caught up in the day to day activities of life to miss God’s plan, to lose site of Him and to start focusing on yourself.? Each and every day I get up to do basically the same thing, with little variety, attempting to take comfort in the knowledge that God works even in the mundane, and yet the Holy Spirit has been at work in my heart to want more.

How do I know it’s Him?? Because God always comes first.? This is one of the first truths that I came face to face with in my devotional study.? We want more of God because He is at work in our hearts.

I say this because I believe that God is currently working a plan out that I have yet to see the end of– but I know it’s Him.

To understand my walk with God, you have to look back over my life, and so– as boring as it will probably be, I want to take some time of reflection, time to show you God at work, and point the way to where I see God at work right now.

It’s Not That I’m Avoiding Planning…

Look at the future

Isn?t it ironic?  I start a series about planning for the future and how it can be unpredictable, and God decides that my time with my current company is to come to an end.  So lets just say that my plans are rapidly changing to account for the difference in what is my immediate future.

So, I will get back to the talk about how to plan for the future, but first, back in August I wrote a series of posts on where I have been and that I believed that God was taking me somewhere different?that my family were about to take on a new challenge.  It was basically a ?here?s where I?ve been, and here?s where I?m going series.?

Secret For Wives #1

SUBMIT TO YOUR HUSBAND?S HEADSHIP.

I guess we might as well start with the one that most women want to avoid! However,it?s one of the secrets so I can?t leave it out! We may not always like what God says but it?s the only way that works. Let?s find out more.

1) Submission is Biblical.

Many couples today believe they can get along doing things their own way, rather than standing on God?s truth. But man?s way doesn?t work. I listened to a preacher the other week who quoted the fact that the percentage of divorce amongst Christians is now higher than the world. How devastating! But this is the fruit of man?s ways.
