Sorry you guys are fighting colds! And I feel your angst, but kind of have a different take on it. I've been around people who get downright panicked when someone with potential germs comes near...that really bothers me. I'd rather get sick myself than treat someone like a leper. Besides, my theory is that we could pick up any number of nasty germs from the shopping carts at Walmart just as easily and be ignorant as to where we contracted our contagions in the first place.

My husband is in a job in which he can't stay home when sick...or very seldom, because they are so short-staffed that they need all the help they can get. The nice thing for his co-worker is that they work outdoors, so the germs can hopefully drift away on the wind! And if my hubby had pneumonia, he might stay home, who knows...he's pretty tough. It's a catch 22 in our case. And we don't get sick days or sick pay.

I definitely think if you can keep from exposing others (and in a job like yours, the co-worker definitely had other options and sick days coming to him most likely) you should! It bothers me, for instance, when people drop off their snotty-nosed, coughing toddlers in the nursery on Sundays...but most people are pretty considerate in that regard.

Hope you all get well soon!
