Bride by the Sunrise

After a delay in Washington, D.C. my wife and I arrived in Pigeon Forge for our honeymoon.  We had reserved a cabin there called “Always and Forever” and the honeymoon package came with some neat baskets that were there for us to enjoy.

When we first arrived there was one of the many Gourmet Gift Baskets that they had provided for us for our meals.  The first was a dinner basket that included steak, salad and some other food.  That was my first time trying to use a grill!

There were Spa Gift Baskets—or something close—that had oils and lotions that were next to the Jacuzzi tub in the master bed room.  And there were other Unique Gift Baskets that had a picnic lunch in it.

These baskets were neat because, not only did we not need to have one more meal out, they arrived or were placed in the cabin by someone we never saw.  It was kinda neat to come back to the cabin after a day of sightseeing to see a basket that was prepared for us.

And there was so much in these baskets that they lasted for more than one meal.

So guys, don’t just take her out, prepare a basket for her—something that takes some thought.  You could put something to eat in it, or get some of the smells she likes from a store in the mall.  Take time to add some flowers, or just be creative.

Taking time to put something together says that you are thinking about her.

@Pamela Kramer: Actually, other than the Honeymoon we haven’t had one– but that doesn’t mean I’m not planning one.

Yeah, Min, it’s the thought that counts… :p

Seriously, though, someone needs to just email all of these posts to my husband.

@AG: I fully intend to do this idea. I’m already planning it. Now I just have to figure out how I’m going to do it within the budget. Sometimes budgets are more restricting than they should be.

For real. I’ve often wondered why an immaterial God doesn’t cause his children to be immaterial beings, too. Money can be so depressing!

@AG: Well, the love of money is the root of all types of evil. But with that logic, God could have made us perfect at salvation. Something about getting us to choose to love Him despite of our sin, I suppose.

Yep, I need to figure out a way to get this in front of my hubby’s face. Maybe print it out and shove it in the middle of his Greek textbook?

@Rachel: Do you need me to run a translation on it? Hebrew would be more fun!

Haha, Hebrew is next year. For now it’s koine Greek, and he has 2 semesters left of it after this one.
