Love I’m a daydreamer in the worst way.

I daydreamed constantly about how I’d be proposed to, what my wedding would be like, my honeymoon…  And so far, hubby has surpassed all of my imaginings with every one of those.  (But then again, it’s hard to get the honeymoon wrong when you stick your music-loving wife on a boat with a hundred big-name Christian musicians.)

So what kind of romantic getaway have I dreamt up?  Believe it or not, it’s fairly simple.  A secluded cabin in the mountains.  Lots of junk food like popcorn and chocolate candies.  Cooking good food like herb chicken together.  Watching sappy movies, playing board games, and going for walks together.  Mostly a weekend shut-in together would be my ideal romantic getaway.

I thought about why I’d want to be shut in with hubby for a weekend instead of out doing all kinds of things with him.  (We had a week away and went to Las Vegas and San Diego not too long ago, but we spent all the time out on the town, trying to see all the sights we could see.)  I realized it’s because I feel like I get quality time with him when we’re one on one, face to face, focused on each other.  When we’re out and about, we’re together, but side by side.  We’re both focused on the street performer, for instance, not on each other, even though that’s a memory we now share.  I want time with just us, to focus on each other.

So how about you?  What would be your ideal romantic getaway?  Why?

Leave it to a man to respond to what three women say in bullet points and no more than 21 words.

And raising the bar? It’s what I do best!

@AG: Hey, it’s automatic with this plugin I have going. It lets you know who I’m referring to when I reply.

Can I help it that someone else is a Twitter nerd?
