My cousin painted a rock for me for a wedding token...it has the verse on it that talks about "many waters not quenching love"...which was appropriate because it was the year of the great flooding across the mid-west. The basement of the church we were married in was almost FULL of water..and the lovely dank smell of dampness was in the air! Plus, my hubby and his family came close to either getting in a boat to make it, or riding horses through miles of pasture to get around the flooding to the church...I like the idea of doing this as a doorstop. Plus, we were challenged in our small group Bible class, to make a monument to God's faithfulness. I've been trying to come up with something...this sounds like a great idea. We could paint a bigger rock, put a verse on it that means a lot to our family, and spray it with sealant for a garden rock!

You're right, Mandy. I believe that my "I love you" stone was a door stop at one time. We also have a stone somewhere in the house that says "Jesus love you."

No wonder the pet rock thing caught on. :)

Hey! Not only is that a great idea, but I have something to add: if you use a large stone, it can be a doorstop. My nine year old daughter's bedroom doorstop is a stone that I painted about thirty years ago.
