Thank you for visiting Weekend Kindness-- the blog that helps you build positive relationships! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you don't miss a single post from one of our great authors!

Welcome to the September 7, 2007 edition of Godly Family.  Each edition is carefully reviewed for the best articles submitted through the Blog Carnival Site.

General

Stephen Miracle writes an interesting post on 5 Steps To A Family Filled With Prayer posted at AltNoise.net.  They are practical tips to get prayer into your life if you’re not already in the habit of praying.  I have to say that I’m not sure that I support every one of them (rewarding yourself for praying), but the premise is good, and if you practice and record your prayer life I believe he’s right: you will find yourself praying more.

Dana presents Homeschool standards posted at Principled Discovery. This post talks about standards– both in the Christian realm of homeschooling as well as the realm of the public school.  A standard is something we strive for, that we look to.  As a Christian, our standard is Christ and we must be sure that we’re educating toward our goal.

ChristianPF presents Don’t give to the poor? posted at Money in the Bible | Christian Personal Finance Blog, saying, “Is giving to beggars helping them or hurting them? A quick discussion about giving to the poor.”

Children

Mary presents Sunday School Every Day posted at Home-Steeped Hope, saying, “A way for children to encourage their brothers and sisters, and gain leadership qualities in the process! A little child shall lead them…and those things learned in childhood remain a blessing into old age.”

Family

ChristianPF presents Was Jesus a tightwad? posted at Money in the Bible | Christian Personal Finance Blog, saying, “A quick discussion about how Jesus handled waste and excess.”

Kathryn Lang presents Making Time for Family Is a Blessing posted at The Peculiar Club.  Spending time talking with and playing with our children is something that we will never regret.  Kathryn starts out by saying that she determined to say “no” to requests for her time less from her children– a very worthwhile goal.

Charles H. Green presents The Dark Side of Trust? Not! posted at Trust Matters, saying, “Harvard claims the key to trust is micromanagement; but the reality is, micromanaging trust will hurt your relationships with everyone in your life, including your loved ones.”

Kendra Dahlstrom presents vbacadventure.com ยป VBAC: A Rollercoaster History posted at vbacadventure.com.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of godly family using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
