Thank you for visiting Weekend Kindness-- the blog that helps you build positive relationships! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you don't miss a single post from one of our great authors!

No one took up my call over at MInTheGap about Strengthening our Marriages:

Sheri, Christine, someone tell me– who’s in charge of having marriage challenges for guys.  Certainly us men could use some help working on our marriages?  Some encouragement?

I mean, I’m sure we don’t always treat our “weaker vessel” with the honor it deserves.  I’m sure that we have selfish times too.  Wouldn’t married couples benefit from having the men work on their marriages as well as the women.

So, how ’bout it men?  Are we up for some challenge in the way that we treat and react to our wives?  Are we man enough?

Should we do that as a function of Weekend Kindness?

Hm, do I qualify to respond to this? I’m not a man. But I would like to see husbands challenged on a regular basis. Somehow it seems as though women are most often the ones who actively work on improving the marriage.

I think that husbands sometimes get into the opinion that all they have to do is to do the work– bring home the bacon. Women also seemed to be more concerned about keeping up the relationship as well. It would be a good thing for husbands to be encouraged along this line.
