Thank you for visiting Weekend Kindness-- the blog that helps you build positive relationships! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you don't miss a single post from one of our great authors!

Your mission for this weekend, if you choose to accept, is to do something for the person behind you in line at the checkout that they do not expect.

Some ideas:

  • Give them $5 towards their grocery bill– I bet this would get quite the reaction!
  • Buy them a candy bar– hey, if you didn’t last week!
  • Offer them a tract
  • Introduce yourself to them, get to know their name, where they are from, etc.
  • Let them go ahead of you in line, even if they have more things.

The idea is to do something kind for someone that isn’t expecting it. Blog about it, and we’ll have a good time encouraging one another doing good things!

Of course, should you still want to participate but aren’t going shopping in the near future, you can still write about what has happened in your life in the past that you have been able to show kindness or kindness was shown to you! If you’re interested in this mission, or just participating, leave a comment and let us know which way you’re going to go!

I love it! Can’t wait…grocery lines can be great fun! I’ve never tried giving money at them before…but we once had an old friend (whom we hadn’t seen in forever!) ahead of us in line at Wal-mart and as she was leaving she tossed my dds a candy bar to share. They’ll never forget it! I admit, I had, until you brought this up! I’ll have to be on the alert for the “perfect victim”!

I’m in on this one. If I can’t find a “victim”, I’m sure I have a story from the past. It’s a good thing that I haven’t shopped this week yet!

I’m in… sorry for the late sign-up… haven’t been feeling very well this week. :-)
