WK 6: Create a Confectionary Masterpiece

…Or buy a box of cookies.

This week’s weekend kindness is to prepare (or buy) some snack/treat food item for a family member or friend and give it to them with a note of encouragement.

Pretty straightforward, and I know that we have some good cooks out there! It’ll be a chance for a recipe post, a post about making the food– take this one wherever you’d like it to go!

WK 5: Send Someone a Card

Yes, we know it’s old fashioned– snail mail seems a thing of the past. Any yet with the ads, the gaudy graphics, and the music that alerts everyone around that you just received one, online greetings just don’t say you care like a card made of card stock.

For this week’s Weekend Kindness you need to procure (get, purchase, etc.) a paper card that encourages someone, write a little note, and send it off. We realise that you may not get the reaction this weekend (though you may find another way to send it than snail mail) but the point of this is what we’re learning in the process and at some later date we can have an update of what happened. Tell us who you’re sending it to and why. Give us a good story, and make a difference.

WK 4: Reach Out and Touch Someone

Mission Accomplished:

Betsy at homegirls homeschool called her brother and sister-in-law having not been in touch for a while.

MInTheGap called a college friend that he’s been meaning to call for a while.

katkat at No Diet Coke for Mommy called a long time friend to try to reconnect after some life changes.

Shelli at Shelli’s Place called an Aunt that she had not talked to for a while, and enjoyed it!

WK 4: Phone a Friend

We are all guilty of this one. Everyone has a friend or family member that they quite simply have lost touch with one way or another. In our busy lives its easy to think that we dont have time for simple a simple “hello” or “how’s it been”, and the longer it takes for us to pick up the phone, the harder it is to do. While some people you genuinely may have lost touch with, others sit in your phonebook unattended.

This week, catch up with an old friend or family member whom you have not spoken with in at least a few months and leave them in good spirits knowing that they indeed are not forgotten! And if you don’t get an answer, remember, answering machine or voicemail messages work just as well!
